WASWO X. WASWO

The images in the series titled "India Poems" were produced between 1999 and 2004. Most were shot with an aging Rolleiflex, though some of the earlier images were made with a Nikon FE2. The images represent an initial response to India, its landscape and people. In the course of making this series of photographs, I also wrote a book of poetry. These related bodies of work were released in two separate volumes: "India Poems" and "India Poems: The Photographs".

All prints in this series are chemical process silver gelatin prints on fiber-based paper. The prints have been sepia toned, and are signed and numbered by the artist on the reverse. An embossed "W.X.W." appears in the lower margin.

The entire "India Poems" series consists of over seventy different images. Prints in this series were released in editions of twelve or of seven, depending on the image.
